Extreme game: Underground race

day 1

• meeting at the railway station at 5:30 a.m. in Chortkiv

(from Kyiv: train 627K Kyiv – Chernivtsi; departure from Kyiv at 6:20 p.m.)

• transfer to hamlet Mlynky (approx. 45 min)

• accommodation in Speleohouse

• breakfast

• preparation for the game “UNDERGROUND RACE” (5 – 6 hours)

• Game takes place in the cave in extreme conditions with limited visibility and intricate passages (including narrow passages, spacious rooms and deep cracks). To overcome the route you should frequently do a belly crawling, “dive” upside down, stretch yourself between walls of cracks leaning only on your elbows and knees. Moreover we prepared the stage in a full darkness (“Ariadne’s thread”) and passing the cracks with artefacts (“Life race”). Participants should be ready for tasks demanding high attention and quick wits (“Laser show”, “Find a plafond”), creativity (“Double-headed spirit”) and orientation in the cave by means of map (“Practical spelaeology”). The winner becomes that team which first will gather the largest quantity of flashlights and cope with all tasks.

• Mlynky cave tour (approx. 3 hours). Route of the 2nd level of difficulty “Eastern circle”. This route includes some more intricate elements: passage “Ushba”, descending to “Pidoshva” (“Sole”). You will see spacious halls, one of which devoted to the world-famous speleologist Norbert Casteret, “Torpeda” and “Elephant”, and marvellous colourful crystals.

• Mlynky cave tour (approx. 3 hours). Route of the 3rd level of difficulty “To the west”. In the Western district the main object of interest is fairly considered the hall “Kazka” (“Fairy-tale”), where you can enjoy extremely picturesque stalactites and stalagmites. Moreover you will see stone “Obelisk”, overcome one of the most difficult obstacles of the cave, that’s “Child’s thrust” and visit the hall discovered by the Belorussian speleologists “Brest”.

• transfer to Chortkiv till 4:00 p.m.

After the tour program you will have an opportunity to walk in the centre of Chortkiv and have a supper.

Information on Chortkiv: a small town with Gothic Dominican church of the XVII century, castle of the XVII century and unique wooden churches of the XVI-XVII centuries.

Sightseeing tour: 150 hrn/2 hours; minimal group: 5 persons.
