Ski week in the Carpathians

Week in the Carpathians, in the mountains, on skies. 2 day skiing at the ski resort Bukovel, climbing to Goverla – the highest peak of Ukraine, hiking in the mountains. And to experience the local flavor we will visit gutsul museum, lunch in kolyba - the gutsul restaurant, drink Kvasy mineral water. We'll be located in the native land of Prince Mykula, that's Mykulychyn (the longest village in the Carpathians).

Tour scenario:

day 1

  • meeting at the railway station in Ivano-Frankivsk

(from Kyiv: train № 43K Kyiv – Ivano-Frankivsk; departure from Kyiv at 7:16 p.m., arrival to Ivano-Frankivsk at 7:02 a.m.)

  • transfer to Mykulychyn (appr. 3 hours)

  • lodging in the hutsul estate

  • breakfast

  • preparation for the skiing, safety briefing

  • walk to Mount Kostel (1049 m), where the highest rock of the Carpathians is located, 15 km

  • supper

 

day 2

  • breakfast

  • walk to Mount Khomyak (1542 m), 20 km

  • snack while ski walk

  • supper

day 3

  • breakfast

  • rest day: excursion to the Roman Kumlyk  private museum in Verhovyna

  • dinner in Kolyba - the gutsul restaurant (at own expense)

  • Kvasy - mineral water source
  • free time, sauna optionally

  • downhill skiing in the famous ski resort “Bukovel”

  • hiking to Mount Goverla (2061 m) - the highest peak of Ukraine

  • walk to Zhenets Waterfall

  • dinner

  • excursion to Yaremche Waterfall called Probiy (the Prut River), and souvenir market
  • transfer to Ivano-Frankivsk

(to Kyiv: train № 43L Ivano-Frankivsk – Kyiv; departure from Ivano-Frankivsk at 6:15 p.m., arrival to Kyiv at 6:23 a.m.)

If there is no snow, skiing trip is changed into trekking.
