New Year tour in the Carpathians: New Year Hoverla

day 1

• meeting at the railway station in Ivano-Frankivsk

(from Kyiv: train № 43K Kyiv – Ivano-Frankivsk; departure from Kyiv at 7:16 p.m., arrival to Ivano-Frankivsk at 7:02 a.m.)

• transfer to Mykulychyn (appr. 1.5 hours)

• lodging in the hutsul homestead

• dinner

• preparation for the skiing, safety briefing

• hike to Mount Kostel, 1049 m (approximately 5 hours), where the highest rock of the Carpathians is located; such kind of training will prepare you for Hoverla. First-timers in the winter mountains should be ready to experience a strong gasping. However, with every following hike it will reduce. On the peak of Kostel Mount you will be pleased with marvelous scenery of the snow-covered Carpathians.

• New Year celebration:

• 8-10 p. m.  – at a homestead: intellectual games, puzzles, rebuses, creative contests

• 10 p. m. – 00:30 a. m.  – on Santa’s lawn with a huge fireplace: relays, action games, contests, songs and dances. Tea and cookies. Firework. New Year photos.

• you should order in advance to reserve festive table at 1 a. m. (not included in a tour price)

day 2

• brunch

• hike to Lisnivsky Range (about 3 hours) - you will see hutsul houses and high spruces, traces left by roe deer, hare or even a wolf on a snow. And from the highest point you will enjoy almost all two-thousanders of the Carpathians

• or skiing at the ski resort “Bukovel” (20 km from Vorokhta), costs connected with rent and transfer are not included in the tour price.

• preparing for conquering Hoverla

• transfer to the tourist camp Zaroslyak (1 hour)

• climbing Goverla, 2061 m (about 6 hours) the highest point in Ukraine

• dinner snack in the mountains

• return to the homestead

• preparing for departure

• dinner

• transfer to Ivano-Frankivsk

• on the way to Ivano-Frankivsk visiting souvenir market and Probiy Waterfall
